Puerto Rico 2024 Symposium on Microgrids

The 18th annual Symposium on Microgrids will be held in Puerto Rico on 3-6 December 2024 at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. The format of the Puerto Rico Symposium is similar to prior years. Attendance is by invitation only, and attendees will be cutting edge researchers, research managers, and policymakers from around the globe.
Our goal for the Puerto Rico 2024 Symposium on Microgrids is to continue our exchange of results from microgrid research, demonstration, and deployment worldwide with an emphasis on recent results and areas of potential international cooperation. Recent natural disasters have highlighted the need to develop an integrated systems approach to manage infrastructure assets. An integrated systems approach involves all the stages of the resiliency cycle (preparedness, response, recovery, and re-adaptation) to address the needs of our communities. Energy supply and access are major priorities for economic development, community life, environmental quality, and social wellbeing. The conference will focus on advances in research and capacity building to improve infrastructure resiliency. In addition to microgrids, the conference’s focus will also include multiple hazards, extreme natural events, and the reconstruction of Puerto Rico after late natural disasters during the past decade and beyond.
As before, each region invites eminent speakers to present their work, and there were additional short summaries of each region’s research program. In addition to these prepared presentations, group discussions will be engaged.

The format of the Puerto Rico 2024 Symposium on Microgrids will be similar to prior ones. Attendance is by invitation only, and attendees, including speakers, will responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. The organizers took the responsibility to host the main symposium without any registration fee. The Symposium will be held from Tuesday to Friday, 3-6 December 2024.
